Nail and Cuticle Care

Every time I paint my nails, I paint one coat of OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener Original Formula. After that has dried, I paint one coat of Essie Grow Stronger on top. I learned this combination from a few people on Instagram who had also had great success with it. You can either paint colored nail polish over the strengthening treatments, or rock a clear manicure.

These are the three products I have been using for cuticle care. Darcy over at Sparrow Nails gave me hibiscus scented Island Girl Cuticle Oil as well as Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter. Both smell so fantastic and moisturize like a dream. Hand Shit Hand Creme (I just had to.) is extremely moisturizing and the sweet pea lilac scent is amazing. Yes, Hand Shit smells fantastic. I use the products throughout the day, whenever the though crosses my mind. While in the shower and my skin is soaking up the hot water, I push my cuticles back with my thumb nails. I do not cut them.

I use a cheap nail file and file straight across my nails. Now that my nails are strong and no longer peeling, I can file in both directions. If your nails are weak or peeling, filing in one direction may help to prevent minor tears that can lead to bigger breaks.

  1. This is so helpful! My nails are currently doing this weird peeling thing that I hate and I'm trying to get them to grow back as strong as they used to be. Thanks so much for the tips! :)

    1. Forget about Burt's Bees! I have found a company that I love a million times more than Burt's Bees. I've tried a couple products from Burt's but lately I've noticed them coming out with so many more products that have more fillers in them ever before.Naturasil Natural Nail Fungus
